Safe Work Methods Training

Proper Job Set-Up

Safety on the job begins at the beginning of the shift. Each employee should come to work prepared to work with the proper clothing and footwear. Proper clothing is attire that is appropriate for the season.

For winter time, clothing should be worn in layers so that as body heat increases through labor, one or two layers can be removed to cut back on heat without resulting in too much heat loss.

Comfort is the key to this part of the methods.

Attire should be loose fitting without being overly baggy. It should be in good repair so there are fewer opportunities for snagging or catching. At the same time, attire should not be so tight fitting that it could restrict movement or limit activities.
